Because the Bleja uses H3LS laminated steel, its softer stainless outer layers are not intended to strike a ferro rod. Reserve the blade for cutting and carry a dedicated striker when firecraft is part of the plan. After wet use, wipe the blade and liners dry, clear debris from the pivot area, and allow both the knife and leather sheath to dry separately before storage.
