Its 4.33-inch 14C28N stainless steel blade offers a practical balance of control and working length, while the curly birch handle provides the warmth and natural character expected from a handcrafted Norwegian field knife.

Designed in collaboration with outdoorsman Les Stroud, the Temagami carries its full-length tang through three-quarters of the handle width. That construction reinforces the knife without replacing the comfortable feel and visual depth of the surrounding wood.

Steward’s Insight

Use the spine rather than the sharpened edge when striking a ferro rod or scraping bark and tinder. This preserves the cutting edge for carving and food preparation while taking advantage of the Temagami’s purpose-built 90-degree spine.

When sharpening, place the broad Scandi bevel flat against the stone and maintain full contact through each stroke. Avoid lifting the blade to create a narrow secondary bevel unless intentionally changing the original edge geometry.
