Placement is what makes the squirrel baffle most effective. Install the pole away from overhanging branches, fences, railings, or other launch points that could let squirrels bypass the baffle from above. When driving the pole into the ground, use a rubber mallet or protect the top with a block of wood, and keep the narrowed end pointed downward.
